Location: Delta Salary: $67,000 per year Job category: Transportation - Logistics Type of job: Permanent Schedule: Early day shift, from 3 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Tasks
Plan, organize and control various activities relating to loading and unloading of freight.
Plan daily manpower needs to ensure customers' freight is delivered on time and damage free.
Communicate with dispatch and with dock workers to coordinate the movement of trailers and freight.
Conduct pre-shift meetings/briefings to communicate values, strategies and company objectives.
Prioritize transfer freight and next-day delivery.
Ensure the timely and efficient movement of freight on a daily basis.
Supervise, coach, train and develop Dock Foremen and dockworkers.
Prepare and issue shift reports to all relevant personnel.
Deal with employee-related issues such as reviews and discipline.
Enforce Health and Safety rules, policies and procedures.
Do any other responsibilities required for the position.

Job requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the transportation industry in an operation's role.
Operational Certifications (Forklift , TDG and WHMIS).
Must possess thorough knowledge of L.T.L. industry.
Knowledge of OS&D.
Computer literate and comfortable with Word or Excel.
Knowledge of AS400 an asset
Knowledge of dispatch operations an asset.
