Salary Range: $123, 900.00 - $162,000.00 with potential for annual salary review and performance incentive. Additional compensation may include use of a company vehicle and relocation.

Job Location: 7216 Brown Street, Delta, BC office. This is a site-based position that may require travel to worksite locations across British Columbia, depending on the project location.

Employment Terms: Permanent, Full-Time.

Shift: May include days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and rotational shift work.

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Education & Experience: College diploma or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, and/or project management, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant field superintendent experience in project management. Demonstrated success in managing buildings projects, showcasing strong project delivery capabilities, specifically in Government Builds/Hospitals & Health Care Facilities/Schools and/or University Projects. Journeyman trade certification is an asset.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the site management of the project and all project activities, including the supervision of self-performed and subcontracted construction work, and focus on managing the execution of the work.
  • Construction management including field and site requirements of multiple projects.
  • Be responsible for managing, directing, and mentoring foremen and other field personnel, including junior Superintendents, and possesses comprehensive knowledge of the project management lifecycle and S-Curve.
  • Manage and participate in the development of construction strategies, project execution planning, scheduling, and estimating.
  • Play an integral role in all stages of the estimating cycle, with ownership of accountability for the estimate and an understanding of the plan created as a result.
  • Participate in preconstruction services on all negotiated projects including development of site logistics, project schedule and phasing, design and constructability review and budget development.
  • Be responsible for site staffing, quality control, sub-trade coordination, project scheduling, field cost control and safety.
  • Determine the method of construction, materials quantities, equipment, work schedule and documentation of hours worked.
  • Coordinate assigned work with work of different crafts, company departments and subcontractors.
  • Maintain relationships with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule.
  • Monitor compliance with company and site safety programs and documents, and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
  • Take an active role in the hiring, training, and monitoring field personnel.
  • Assist with preparation and facilitation of project meetings.
  • Assist project managers with resolution of outstanding claim items and with warranty.
  • In conjunction with the project manager, manage the project budget specifically as pertains to production on self-performed work.

Budgetary Responsibility: $15-25M.

Supervision: Remote and on-site management experience leading a team of at least 20 professionals, including construction workers, contractors, and subcontractors.

Work Conditions & Physical Capabilities: The ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines is required. Must be able to work for extended periods of time outdoors in various weather and environmental conditions. Must be mobile and able to travel and work 100% on site based on the project schedule and requirements in British Columbia.
