Electrician - 4th Year Apprentice to Journeyperson

This position will provide electrical support and expertise to some of the largest mobile mining equipment in the world. You will employ logic and deductive reasoning in diagnosing and troubleshooting. SMS equipment is looking for knowledgeable Electrician - 4th Year Apprentice to Journeyperson to join our highly skilled team at our Elkford, BC branch.

This shift rotation for this position is 7x7. Housing is available.

The wage range for this role is $50.12 - $52.74 per hour. Additional premiums may be available

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting both customers and other trades people in the resolution, component repair/rebuild, haul truck/shovel repair, and equipment assembly/repair issues in the effective troubleshooting of equipment.
• Installation of new parts and equipment in accordance with generally accepted industry standards, as well as site specific best practices.
• Performing component failure analysis to improve the operation of installed parts and equipment

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be a Electrician - 4th Year Apprentice to Journeyperson. Additional requirements include:

• Proven ability to adhere to and maintain workplace health and safety initiatives
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and OEM drawings and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts
• Requires a thorough knowledge of maintenance and repair of Komatsu AC Electric Drive Trucks and other Mining equipment
• Highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Valid Class 5/G Driver's License
