General Supervisor, Parts

At SMS Equipment, our General Supervisor, Parts is responsible for ensuring that the daily activities of the parts order desk & warehouse functions are carried out in a safe and productive manner. This position is in Elkford, BC.

The shift rotation for this position is 5x2.

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $115,000.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Liaise with the Branch Operations Manager and Branch personnel to ensure efficient and profitable operation of area of responsibility.
• Assist in the development and execution of department cost model and control.
• Optimize efficiency, productivity and waste control.
• Coordinate with other departments to facilitate efficient and effective operations.
• Oversee the daily activities of the order desk & warehouse functions within well-established and clearly defined policies and procedures.
• Oversee parts order desk functions as applicable.
• Expedite customer orders, expedites vendor orders and communicates delivery information with customers and service department.
• Build quick reference sheets for customers and internal use.
• Review measurements to determine process improvements.
• Handle general employee inquiries and resolves issues.
• Manage the parts program and enforce proper procedures for component exchange programs.
• Tracks component exchange program inventory.
• Maintain communication with company shops and vendor rebuild shops
• Monitor all outbound stock, maintains communication with purchaser/ logistics personnel internally and externally
• Make recommendations on purchasing additional inventory for new models and/or customers.
• Train and develop parts personnel as well as delegate and prioritize order desk responsibilities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a High School Diploma with a minimum of 3 years parts and/or warehousing supervisory experience in an industrial environment. Additional requirements include:

• Previous experience in parts and/or purchasing.
• Must be a strong leader with the ability to effectively lead a group of parts personnel.
• Excellent computer proficiency in NDS and Microsoft applications; as well as familiarity with inventory management systems.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbally.
• Strong customer service focus.
• Journeyperson Parts technician certification is preferred.
• Valid Class 5/ driver's license.
