Description:
Under the direction and leadership of the Maintenance Manager, we are seeking a Journeyman Plumber to join our Camp Services Maintenance department at our BC Hydro Site C Lodge located in British Columbia.
The Journeyman Plumber will be responsible for performing skilled journeyman level work which involves preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, modifications, installation/dismantling of plumbing systems.
Located: 7 kilometers southwest of Fort St. John, BC. This position is based on a rotation of 14 days on and 14 days off.
Responsibilities:
- Complete timely inspections, testing and accurate reporting of equipment defects / deficiencies
- Perform scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures
- Provide input for the planned and scheduled work and assist with the completion of the committed schedule
- Assist with the scoping, estimating, planning and execution of new work or projects
- Ensure all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met
- Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported and graded
- Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes
- Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements
Qualifications:
- Journeyman Certified Plumber (Red Seal) with a minimum of 5 years experience
- Class B Gas Fitter License
- Current certificates in Fall Arrest, Confined Space, and Elevated Work Platform
- Class 5 license and clean drivers abstract is required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to read drawings and blueprints
- Ability to build and work in a team environment is crucial along with a strong commitment to personal and team safety
Compensation:
- Base wage: $44.93/hr + opportunity for overtime
- Benefits and pension administered through the union
