Accountabilities

  • Work with Lift Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Administrator to coordinate, execute and document all lift and building related maintenance
  • Working with team to schedule daily, weekly and seasonal maintenance schedules
  • Identify and correct any problems found in resort lift equipment
  • Adhere to assembly and installation instructions set forth in vendor manuals and specifications
  • Actively be involved in coordination of preventative and predictive maintenance of all lifts and lift maintenance equipment
  • Maintain records of work completed and report on all lift maintenance and building related activities
  • Assist with training Lift Operators to safely operate the lifts and perform routine checks
  • Operate company equipment safely and effectively in accordance with company policies and within Z-98 code as governed by BC Safety Authority
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with local and national standards and legislation
  • Lead, motivate and manage electrical team
  • Keep work area safe and clean and report any damage, malfunction, misuse or abuse of any equipment or property
  • Ensure safety of guests and employees through proper training and adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Check and maintain all types of inside and outside wiring and conduits, fire alarm field wiring and internal supervisory circuits, fire alarm boxes, burglar alarm modules, area lighting, HVAC, motor and motor controls
  • Install, repair and test electrical systems, lift stations, and emergency generators
  • Diagnose and repair irrigation controls, computer cables and other related equipment
  • Manage and delegate daily work assignments and ensure that all work performed is in compliance with Z-98 and the Canadian Electrical codes, and meets other regulations
  • Estimate materials and equipment required to complete assigned tasks, and assist with the creation of purchase orders for materials and supplies as necessary
  • Read and interpret electric schematics, rough sketches and blueprints and prepare as-built drawings
  • Flags work sites to ensure job site safety and respond to emergency situations as needed
  • Plan and implement the preventative and required maintenance of all buildings, lifts and lift maintenance equipment
  • Operate and maintain a wide variety of pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and hydraulic tools and equipment associated with the electrical and construction trades
  • Troubleshoot PLC's
  • Keep work area safe and clean and report any damage, malfunction, misuse or abuse of any equipment or property
  • Assist other departments with general maintenance needs as appropriate
  • Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
  • Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Certified Journeymen Electrician or Inter-provincial ticket
  • Willingness to work towards obtaining BC Field Safety Representative (FSR) Certification
  • Previous experience with and working knowledge of hydraulics, machining and building maintenance
  • Current, valid Driver's License
  • Sufficient ability to ski or snowboard to access trails and resort areas
  • Previous experience reading and interpreting schematics, blueprints, plans and specifications
  • Ability to operate and maintain a variety of hand, power and shop tools and equipment used in electrical installation, maintenance and repair work
  • Thorough understanding of building, Electrical and Safety codes, ordinances and regulations
  • Proficient with MS Office and other basic computer systems and applications
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with 750-volt distribution and installation
  • 2-4 years' experience in motor controls in addition to journeyman trade ticket

  • Able to work at heights and must have physical dexterity, strength and stamina necessary to work with machinery and equipment
  • Must be able to work flexible hours
  • May be exposed to severe weather conditions on resort (snow, cold, wind)
