Accountabilities

  • Oversee the maintenance of lift equipment
  • Planning, prioritizing, assigning, supervising, reviewing and participating in all tasks related to lift maintenance
  • Develop methods and schedules for lift maintenance
  • Responsibly handling emergency situations or after-hours calls for repair and maintenance
  • Taking part in developing maintenance policies and standards for an organization
  • Coordinating training sessions in lift maintenance, safety procedures, and methods
  • Planning daily tasks and delegating them to the team
  • Maintaining preventive maintenance standards for an organization's facilities and equipment
  • Clearly describe, assign and delegate responsibility within the team
  • Hire, train, retain and develop quality staff
  • Evaluate team and provide productive performance feedback and progressive correction
  • Oversee employee orientation, training and scheduling
  • Oversee employee Occupational Health and Safety training
  • Maintain effective inter-departmental communications throughout the resort
  • Establish and manage operational and capital budgets for the department
  • Develop Goals and Objectives for your role which drive key business outcomes as communicated by senior management
  • Establish professional and cooperative relationships with relevant stakeholders including Technical Safety BC
  • Ensure that key supervisory staff within your teams have Goals and Objectives set out on an annual basis
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed in line with industry standards
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years previous experience in a maintenance supervisory role
  • Proven experience within the resort, tourism, or recreation industry
  • Experience in project development and management
  • Working knowledge of lift operating systems
  • Certified Aerial and surface operator - Technical Safety BC
  • Must hold a current valid driver's license
  • Advanced level of ski capabilities
  • Previous holding of OFA or OEC level 3 first aid ticket
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Z-98 codes
  • Knowledge of snow grooming equipment, operations and standards
  • Knowledge of sustainable slopes environment, forestry and government regulations
  • Previous experience in summer slope grooming, security, shipping, receiving, mountain bike park operations
  • Electrical and Millwright Journeyman ticket desired
  • Ability to work closely with peers at other RCR resorts

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to work flexible hours
  • May be exposed to severe weather conditions on resort (snow, cold, wind, sun)
  • Ability to travel (<10%) as needed
