We are looking for a Maintenance Superintendent to join our Heffley Creek division located in Kamloops British Columbia. With approximately 250 employees, Heffley Creek Division produces plywood and veneer products, safely and sustainably while producing approximately 180 million square feet of plywood and 28 million square feet of veneer per year, for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience.
  • Red Seal Certification required; Millwright ticket preferred.
  • Post Secondary in Mechanical Engineering, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of sustained improvements in maintenance reliability.
  • Strong planning, goal setting and project management skills.
  • Proven team leader with strong labour relations and people skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing change.
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems; preferably JD Edwards.
  • Knowledge of the development and implementation of effective safety programs.
  • Wood products manufacturing experience preferred.

      • Develop and manage the operational budget including supporting capital planning and execution.
      • Be accountable for overall mill safety performance, including ensuring employees are trained, supported and coached in operating safety and in compliance with documented procedures, policies and regulations.
      • Develop employees through effective coaching, mentoring and performance management and feedback.
