As an Operations Manager you will play a key role in the overall coordination and implementation of high-quality traffic control services to our clients. Management of labor, productivity, and maintaining traffic control operations, efficiency, safety, and the supervision of office and field staff that may report to you. You will be responsible for driving organic business expansion within the designated geographic region. This role focuses on strategic identification and pursuit of new business opportunities, efficient management of a robust sales pipeline, and continually enhances sales growth.


What you will be responsible for:


Leadership

  • Direct organizational operations, projects, or services including all related administrative activities
  • Engage leaders to ensure quality requirements and safety standards are adhered to
  • Effectively collaborate and communicate with other functional/department managers to understand all required aspects and needs of operational development, and to ensure they are fully informed of operational objectives, purpose and achievements


Operations

  • Plan, develop and implement strategy and budgets for the operational management of the division within agreed targets and timelines
  • Monitor suppliers to ensure that they efficiently and effectively provide needed goods or services within budgetary limits and timelines
  • Manage the movement of services to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, or sustainability of operations
  • Ensure traffic control capabilities meet or exceed requirements for cost, quality, delivery, safety and responsiveness


Health and Safety

  • Review Health & Safety related paperwork including JOSH minute and ensure mandates are being executed
  • Support the GRTW and Accommodated work programs and processes
  • Supports a healthy and safe operation and environment. Promotes health and safety standards by playing a key role in the maintaining of the divisions' COR Safety program
  • Support Operations Managers, Supervisors, and Trainers/Mentors in safe operations that meet regulatory requirements, and correct daily issues


Client Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for major customer accounts, fostering enduring relationships and ensuring client satisfaction
  • Cultivate collaboration and partnership at all levels to drive client retention and identify organic growth opportunities


Business Development and Lead Generation

  • Strategically identify and pursue new business opportunities through diverse channels, leveraging industry insights and market trends
  • Drive the expansion of opportunities within a robust sales pipeline, generating new revenue streams through effective lead generation
  • Develop and implement dynamic strategies for revenue and market share expansion, emphasizing sustainable profitability

What we need from you:


  • Valid driver's license is required - class 5 minimum. Must be able to commute to the Vernon office when needed.
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in multi-city trades or similar work experience.
  • 3+ years of leadership and management experience with a track record of success leading diverse teams.
  • Must maintain WorkSafe BC recognized TCP certification, which the employer will provide.
  • Prior experience in the Traffic Control Industry is an asset
  • Must review and maintain a clear understanding of the MOTI manual for traffic control work on roadways.

Where/When you will be working:


  • May require non-standard hours of work.
  • This position may require work outside the office environment.
  • May require some travel to satellite branches within BC.
  • May require handling phone calls or messages after hours.
  • The position requires presence at primary and local offices within the area of your responsibility.
