We're looking for a Production Supervisor to join our Heffley Creek division, located in Kamloops, British Columbia. With approximately 250 employees, Heffley Creek Division produces plywood and veneer products, safely and sustainably while producing approximately 180 million square feet of plywood and 28 million square feet of veneer per year, for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

• 3-5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of veneer and plywood production is a strong preference.
• Post-secondary education in forestry, business, engineering or related field is preferred.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with a focus on safety and reliability.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends as we are a 24/7 operation.
• Reliable transportation is required as we are not in a transit accessible location.

In this role you will:

• Live the Tolko values with an emphasis on safety, respect, progressiveness, integrity, open communication and profit.
• Develop and empower your team to deliver results.
• Provide direction and leadership to a production crew of 15 to 30 employees.
• Ensure that production targets and schedules are met as forecasted by monitoring production schedules, tracking progress and making adjustments as needed.
• Ensure efficiency and quality in veneer and plywood manufacturing. This includes overseeing production processes, scheduling shifts, and ensuring smooth workflow across different departments.
• Promote a culture of safety by ensuring work is performed in accordance with company policies and procedures and that risks are identified and mitigated.
• Foster a culture of reliability, continuous improvement and drive operational excellence.
• Build strong labour relations and maintain effective communication with emotional safety awareness amongst your team.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and address any issues promptly.
• Implement and monitor reliability-centered maintenance practices to enhance equipment performance.
• Work in a variety of temperatures, as the role involves mostly indoor work but may also require exposure to external temperatures.
