JOB OVERVIEW

The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for the daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance for the Kelowna facility, including supporting the Centre for Excellence and Airport Childcare Facility. This hands-on role includes supervision of the facility repairs & updates, contractor selection and management. The successful candidate should be able to perform minor facility systems maintenance including plumbing, electrical, lighting, doors, etc.

Customer service and cost management will be important measurables for KF, our staff, CFE staff and YLW Daycare facility.

Performs other miscellaneous duties as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Facilities Maintenance

Responsible for overall maintenance and upkeep of facility / building repairs

  • Inspection and service of hangar doors, roof top units, fire systems, generator, oil separator, compressors, elevators, etc.
  • Obtain quotes and track progress of outsources repairs and other jobs
  • Supervise the work of contractors
  • Manage/ Order maintain inventory of consumable supplies and materials
  • Managing within assigned budget

Facility Management

  • Monitoring fire panel, security, and sewer panels, etc.
  • On-call for after hours emergencies

Supervision

  • Coordinating and allocating staff between jobs to optimize efficiency
  • Auditing the quality of work performed
  • Ensure all required training is completed and up to date
  • Creating and maintaining a positive work environment
  • Creating and maintaining staff schedule, ensuring accurate use of company procedures
  • Providing coaching and feedback to employees, addressing employee performance issues, and conducting performance appraisals.

  • Handyman/Carpenters
  • Electrician
  • Millwright
  • Welder/Fabricator

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in industrial facilities maintenance
  • Preference given to candidates with 5 or more years' experience in a supervisory role
  • Willing to take initiative to make personal and organizational improvements
  • Demonstrated customer orientation
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail, strong documentation skills
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Intranet
  • Good oral and written communication skills

SALARY

The wage band is KF level 12, $87,700-$109,700 annually. The expertise and technical skill level of the candidate is assessed during the selection process for placement within the band. Note: The salary range maximum signifies full job knowledge.
