About the role

We're looking for graduates from a range of degrees for our Rio Tinto Kitimat, BC site. This requisition is for 3 roles : 1 graduate electrical engineer, 1 graduate mechanical engineering, 1 graduate process engineering.

Joining us as a Graduate, you'll experience our innovative, future focused Development Program where you will:

What you'll bring

To be eligible for the Graduate program, you must have completed your studies within the last two years (2023, 2024) or working towards graduation in 2025.

  • Bachelor or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering,Electrical Engineering, Chemical / Process / Metallurgical Engineering or other related field

  • Less than two years of relevant work experience (local and international)

  • Right to work in Canada

  • Valid driver's license

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

  • Leadership skills, eagerness to learn and ready for the challenges ahead

  • Interest in working in a large complex industrial environment

  • Safety mindset

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Flexibility and autonomy

  • Enthusiasm to collaborate with different teams in unique environments

The base salary for this role is $85,700 CAD in addition to allowances, bonus, equity, health or retirement benefits, and any other discretionary benefits offered at Rio Tinto. Our base salary ranges are based on role, level, and location. Our talent acquisition partners can share more during the hiring process.

Rio Tinto BC Works is a part of the Atlantic Operations of the Aluminum product group. Rio Tinto has been operating in British Columbia for over 65 years.
