We are looking for multiple Industrial Electricians to join the Maintenance teams, where they will perform electrical construction, installation, relocation, repair, and preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facilities for the optimum operating efficiency.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and working a 12-hour rotating day and night shift schedule, you will be:

  • Working safely in accordance with Rio Tinto safety standards - actively engaging in safety initiatives promoting our "Zero harm" safety culture. Including lock-out/tag-out and isolation procedures
  • Inspecting, installing, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls. Servicing includes calibration and preventative/predictive maintenance.
  • Using power and hand equipment, often performing work at heights which require climbing and the use of safety equipment i.e., harness, lanyard, SRL's, man-lifts, scissor-lifts.
  • Utilizing SAP to enter work completion records, and preparation, ordering, and retrieval of parts lists.
  • Keeping your work area safe, clean, and well maintained. Taking timely action to correct unsafe work conditions in your work area.
  • Maintaining a continuous improvement focus by developing and participating in implementation of appropriate solutions to eliminate the issues/problems identified in the work area.
  • Working effectively as an individual and within a team, including communicating respectfully to all team members and stakeholders.

What you'll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
  • Interprovincial Electrician qualification (Industrial Electrician trade is preferred).
  • Minimum of a valid B.C. Class 7 (Novice) driver's license, or out-of-province equivalent.
  • Experience performing electrical maintenance.
  • Must be able to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all team members.
  • Work cooperatively in a small team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
