Position Summary: #LI-Onsite #LI-CW2
We are seeking a self-motivated candidate to provide maintenance support to a 24/7 highly automated and fast paced distribution center. The qualified candidate should have strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills with a strong background in mechanical maintenance. The position will require a strong understanding of mechanical portions of automated machinery as well as basic understanding of electrical, pneumatics, PC's, robotics, and Ethernet networks.
This role will operate out of the Langley, BC distribution center reporting to the Senior Automation Technician.
Key Job Responsibilities:
o Provide expertise on mechanical systems, bearings, conveyors, servos, robotics and computer systems.
o Participate in root cause problem solving sessions to review specific pieces of the process with the goal of eliminating waste and downtime to meet all distribution team goals
o Maintain comprehensive log of all preventative maintenance inspections and other significant equipment related issues and activities.
o Ensure that system is operating optimally or take immediate corrective actions.
o Make recommendations if system should be operated differently.
o Make proposals on how the overall system could be improved.
o Troubleshooting:
o Ongoing control of the system functionality and initiatives to improve the system and practices
o Weekly meetings and reporting activities
o Spare part management
o Provide support for the manufacturing internet network and act as a liaison between distribution personnel and corporate IT
o Supports without hesitation Distribution Center Safety, Food Safety, Food Defense Initiatives and Good Manufacturing Practices with an understanding that these are absolutes & are Priority #1.
o Assures that General Safety and Food Safety is an absolute priority.
o Work closely with distribution supervisors and managers to provide effective maintenance support
o Promote a strong teamwork environment with entire DC team
o Ensure equipment in area is maintained, guarded and operated in accordance with defined safety regulations and procedures
o Identify potential cost savings and cost avoidance.
o Experience with the following is preferred
o Assist in regular building maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and well-maintained facility.
o Assist in developing new safety procedures/programs and local DC policies
o Excellent communication skills
o Must be a self-starter.
o Willing to travel for training and visit suppliers, bakeries and other locations as need, albeit it infrequently.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000
