We have an immediate opening for a full time position in our Composite department. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out Composite repairs on a variety of Bell and Airbus Helicopter structures IAW OEM instructions and approved data.

As a Mechanic - Composite Technicain, you'll repair and overhaul gas turbine engines.

What you'll do:

  • Performing structural/composite repairs including Aluminum Bonding, Wet layups (using Fiberglass, Kevlar and Carbon Fibers) and core replacements on a variety of OEM Helicopter parts.
  • Preparing aircraft parts required for inspection and repair including sanding, plastic media blasting, and cleaning
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
  • Document all work accomplished (a.k.a. sign-off) in a clear, concise and accurate manner
  • Performs work while adhering to the applicable procedures and standards.
  • Applying safe work practices and use of proper PPE
  • Adhering to all requirements for hazardous waste disposal
  • Reviews work required, prepares inspection reports for estimates
  • Reviews blueprints and drawings to determine requirements of jobs
  • Troubleshooting and ensuring required performance and standards of the repaired unit/pieces
  • Develop work methods, procedures and standards, if necessary
  • Plan, organize and coordinate work
  • Provide instruction, guidance, advice, and feedback as required
  • Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of machines and tools
  • May perform other duties as required by the department
  • Wear appropriate clothing and safety equipment for the job

Position Requirements

  • Seven (7) years' experience in helicopter composite repairs preferred.
  • Experienced with Hot Bonding techniques
  • Understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations
  • Certification in composite repairs.
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, technical drawings, and blueprints to determine proper operating conditions
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance
