Reporting to the Senior Engineer Supervisor the Senior Planner, Metallurgy is responsible for optimizing Mill operations to maximize copper and molybdenum production by coordinating across Mine Planning, Mill Maintenance, Mill Processing, Water and Tailings departments.

To be successful we require someone with strong interpersonal and communication skills, who can influence a team; someone with outstanding organizational, planning and resourcing skills, who is detail oriented and able to prioritize contending demands in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Collaborate with Integrated Planning and Production to align Mine Planning, Mill Maintenance, Mill Processing, Tailings, and Water departments for optimal value chain efficiency.
  • Understand operational constraints and align on maintenance shutdown strategies to optimize planning and maximize Copper and Moly production.
  • Support the Variance Response to Plan process within Integrated Production/Planning.
  • Create and present the processing portion of the 7+35 plan, ensuring alignment with overall value chain priorities. This includes:
    • Key processing priorities for the upcoming week.
    • Ore blend plan and pile strategy.
    • Operational guidance for Crushing, Grinding, Bulk & Moly Flotation, Leach Plant, Dewatering, and Sand Production.
    • Concentrate inventory management plan
  • Drive continuous improvement in integrated planning and production processes
  • Provide forecasts for Copper and Moly concentrate production quality
  • Assist with forecasting and budgeting processes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • Self-motivated team player with the ability to mentor and motivate;
  • Must be eligible for Professional Engineer membership in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geo-Scientists of the Province of British Columbia (APEGBC);
  • Must have a valid driver's license (BC 7N or equivalent).

Salary Range: $117,000 - $144,000

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
