Reporting to the Technology Manager, Copper Growth, the Site Delivery Lead, Copper Growth represents Teck Digital Systems (TDS) and will be the main point of contact for Technology deployments across their mine portfolio. This motivated individual is responsible for technical leadership and the successful delivery of their portfolio in support of Teck's Growth Projects. Copper Growth is a multi-year strategy to provide our world with the copper critical to support energy transition. Teck has potential to develop 10 new mining operations in the next decade! The TDS Copper Growth Program has the goal to deliver and deploy technologies for these operations in a cost effective, consistent, and scalable way.

Alongside assisting functional managers with their PM duties, this outstanding candidate will provide support towards project management from initiation to closure. Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures

  • Coordinate on-site activities for the technology teams alongside work with union site and contract resources

  • Work with internal on-site resources to plan and schedule project activities while assisting Corporate PMs

  • Act as the "bridge" between Corporate teams (PMs, Technology managers, SMEs) and on-site teams (local resources & Contractors)

  • Contribute to reporting, information management, and communication from multiple information channels

  • Ensure execution of all stages of projects are conducted in a responsible, safe manner while guaranteeing there are no unreasonable risks taken that may jeopardize safety

  • Coordinate and manage team members and contractors working on the project at site, following the site contractor management policies and procedures

  • Collaborate with Managers to plan, request and acquire required resources to meet deliverables

  • Coordinate the contracts including preparation of Purchase Requisitions, invoice processing, and approval

  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and logistics for project and program purposes

  • Solve problems by identifying, resolving, and advancing any issues and risks as and when required

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience. An additional 1-3 years managing projects in a large sophisticated on-site (Mining) environment with Union Involvement

  • Strong negotiation skills and experience working with unions

  • Familiarity with Organizational Change Management

  • Practical experience working on projects ranging from $1 - 10M

  • Comfortable working with some ambiguity and moving this to clarity

  • Willingness to work across multiple sites, projects, and fields

  • Strong vendor management capabilities, including experience with contracts

  • Strong coordination and organizational skills, a great teammate and collaborator

  • Meticulous with a propensity for pragmatism; strives to get the job done right

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at both technical and executive levels

  • Proven analytical skills

  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint

  • Written and spoken proficiency in Spanish is considered an asset
