Road Crew - Heavy Equipment Operator

Our Road Crew - Heavy Equipment Operators construct and maintain roads to support sustainable forestry operations. Ensuring safe access to the right place, at the right time is critical to the success of both harvesting and reforestation. We're looking for multiple experienced Road Crew - Heavy Equipment Operators for our Southern Interior Woodlands Division. The Southern Interior Woodlands Team manages Tolko's tenure and fibre supply in the Southern Interior of British Columbia, covering an area of 953,447 hectares. We are dedicated to sustaining these areas to the benefit of all who live and work there.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • A proven commitment to safety.
  • A demonstrated ability to meet performance measures.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and team collaboration skills.
  • A valid driver's license is required; Class 1 with air brake endorsement preferred.
  • Experience with iPads and mapping applications is an asset.
  • An understanding of forest policy, guidelines, and regulations is an asset.
  • Previous heavy equipment experience is preferred.
  • Experience running a grader is required.


In this role you will:

  • Operate heavy equipment to safely undertake road construction and complete maintenance activities in the field.
  • Work closely with Woodlands Operations Supervisors to follow building activities.
  • Work with other operators to effectively construct and maintain roads.
  • Work in a safe, timely, cost effective and professional manner.
