The Project Coordinator - Duke Point Expansion Project (the Project) is responsible to provide coordination and administration support through the full life cycle of the Project. This is a site based position, at 750 Jackson Road, Nanaimo, and includes supporting the Project Team through the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and closure of the Project.

In this role you will:

  • Provide site based coordination and administration support through the full life cycle of the Project
  • Support the Project Team initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and closure of the Project
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, take minutes, organize action items and ensure completion through follow up
  • Provide document control support for the Project
  • Prepare submissions, reports and presentations to facilitate the approval and delivery of the project by coordinating input from team members, editing, proofing and formatting documents
  • Liaise internally with terminal operations, technology, safety and security groups to seek alignment on project performance and technical requirements
  • Prepare RFQ and RFP documentation and participate in the evaluation, contract agreement, and coordination of consultants and contractors
  • Coordinates site investigations, topographic surveys and other pre-construction contracts with contractors and terminal operations
  • Coordinate construction activities between contractors and terminal operations and conduct quality, safety and environmental inspections
  • Assist with the preparation of project progress and cost tracking reports
  • Developing Project scheduling, budgeting and progress reports.
  • Forecasting project goals and completion.
  • Monitor Project Activities (risks, contract, budget and schedule)
  • Suggest improvement and efficiencies in project processes and responsible for change management as a result.

What you bring to the role:

  • A university degree related to civil engineering, construction management or related discipline along with a minimum of 3 years site experience on civil or marine works projects
  • Demonstrated major project experience related to planning, permitting, procurement, engineering design, construction supervision, commissioning and contract administration of civil or marine infrastructure projects with construction values >$50m
  • Superior organizational and communication skills
  • Outstanding computer skills including experience using Microsoft Project, document control systems and drafting software.
  • This position is ideal for a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively and positively with all contacts, internally and externally
  • Must be able to work independently, accurately and on own initiative to maintain work output with minimum supervision
  • Must be a highly organized and detailed-oriented individual who can manage competing priorities
  • Good organizational skills and flexibility to perform multiple tasks as required
  • Fluent in English.
  • Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries.
