Detailed Overview
Under the direction of the RCH Mechanical Supervisor, performs trades related duties approaching the journeyman level in the repair, maintenance, installation and modification of mechanical equipment, parts and components. May supervise Maintenance Workers and other designated staff.
Responsibilities
- Repairs and maintains various mechanical equipment such as fans, compressors, drive units, pumps, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Adjusts, modifies, assembles and or installs various mechanical equipment such as pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and rolling stock to meet required specifications.
- Performs minor electrical and soldering functions.
- Fabricates and installs parts and components as required.
- Dissassembles, cleans, lubricates and adjusts mechanical equipment including pumps, fans compressors, conveyors hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as required.
- Repairs precision equipment.
- Performs painting of hospital equipment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Grade 10, plus four (4) years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
