Job Description

As a Marine Technician for our fire alarm division, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding lives and assets at sea. We are looking for someone skilled and motivated to join our dynamic team. Your key responsibilities will be to :

  • Proceed to the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fire alarm and sprinkler systems on marine vessels according to standards;
  • Connect control panels, detectors, alarms, and other fire protection systems components;
  • Lay out and install wiring circuit for fire alarm systems;
  • Ensure proper connections and troubleshoot any wiring issues;
  • Conduct regular testing and inspections of fire alarm and sprinkler systems to ensure functionality;
  • Identify any issues or malfunctions detected during testing/inspections;
  • Collaborate with other marine professionals (electricians, engineers), to ensure a proper integration of fire alarm systems with other ship systems;
  • Ensure that all work complies with maritime regulations, safety standards, and applicable codes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Electrical Red Seal Certification;
  • College diploma in fire protection or building mechanics or civil engineering, or high school diploma and equivalent relevant experience;
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience;
  • In-depth knowledge of marine fire alarm systems and relevant safety regulations;
  • Technical proficiency in installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of marine electrical systems, including fire protection equipment; (asset)
  • Knowledge of products used in fire protection;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Ability to work well independently;
  • Strong customer service skills.
