The Music Therapist is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents and ignites the warmth of human connection.
As a Music Therapist your typical day will impact the following ways:
• Application of music therapy interventions within the context of a therapeutic relationship. This relationship is developed through music-based, verbal, and/or non-verbal communication. Certified MTAs.
• Using music to address human needs within cognitive, communicative, emotional, musical, physical, social, and spiritual domains.
• Conducting client assessments, develop treatment plans, implement therapy processes, and evaluate progress.
• Conducting and/or participating in research, educate and supervise students and professionals, facilitate knowledge translation, act as consultants, and provide professional leadership on the use of music to promote health and well-being.
Must haves:
• Member in good standing with the Canadian Association of Music Therapists.
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check.
Bonus points for having:
• Long Term Care experience.
