We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Shop Coordinator to join our team in Port Coquitlam, BC.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality assurance and control within our mechanical manufacturing shop. You will conduct QAQC inspections, maintain detailed records, and collaborate with key partners to resolve issues and implement best practices.

This opportunity is ideal for anyone with a background in Mechanical Engineering, has strong analytical skills, and is proficiency with MS Suite and tool inventory software. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct QAQC inspections on valves, plumbing fixtures, and other materials.
  • Create and maintain QC documents and records, including inspections, tests, and audits.
  • Perform detailed data collection and entry into Procore.
  • Implement 5S practices to transform the shop into a lean manufacturing unit.
  • Ensure all products meet company standards, specifications, and industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with key partners, including sheet metal and piping forepersons, toolcrib coordinators, and the national toolcrib manager, to resolve QAQC issues.
  • Monitor and inspect incoming materials and job-related documents.
  • Maintain proper labeling and records for quality control documentation.
  • Identify and implement best practices for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Background in Mechanical Engineering, whether through a degree, diploma, EIT certification, or trades experience.
  • Proficient with MS Suite and experienced in using tool inventory and equipment tracking software, including OneKey, Procore, Toolhub, Toolhound, or Service Build Centrix, etc.
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and 5S methodology is a plus.
