Role: The Accounting Assistant focuses on managing the outflow of financial transactions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining organized financial records. This role includes reconciling vendor statements, coordinating with suppliers to resolve discrepancies, and supporting the finance team. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV/ Business Central is a significant asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to handle financial software and data management with precision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining and organizing financial records and documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and process routine financial transactions, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant with company policies.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to monitor outgoing payments and manage related documentation.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to clarify payment details and resolve any issues.
  • Assist with maintaining internal controls and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
  • Utilize accounting software, such as Microsoft Dynamics NAV, to enter data and generate financial reports.
  • General filing, photocopying, scanning, and ordering supplies.
  • Additional administrative tasks and special projects as required.

Professional Experience / Qualifications:

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Works well under pressure and performs well within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics Nav experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience working in a project based working environment considered an asset.
  • Experience in an industrial setting, drilling being an asset.

Education:

  • College Diploma or University Degree is considered an asset.

Start Date: January 2025
