As a Electrician with Paladin Technologies, you will collaboratively review, understand, analyze (for correctness), and implement installation blueprints and plans from Project Managers and Sales Teams to complete installations of data and structured cabling systems. This role requires the ability and know-how to properly complete the installation, understand and follow the BOM, and be capable of making adjustments or finding alternative solutions as needed to complete installations to client satisfaction.  

In addition to the installation, service, and maintenance of integrated low-voltage systems this position will have the opportunity to work on traditional electrical components as well. ACCOUNTABILITIES:  

  • Install and service cabling infrastructure and devices for Data and Audio Visual and CCTV;  includes pre-wiring, installation, termination, labeling, testing and reporting per specifications and drawings. 
  • Perform electrical work as required, this could include:
    • Install grounding and bonding.
    • Install EMT and flex conduit pathways.
    • Install devices such as card readers, door contacts, access control panels.
    • Install 120V power wiring.
  • Install network racks and cabinets in server rooms. 
  • Interact with customers and prospects, ensuring all inquiries are handled professionally. 
  • Adhere to Paladin’s Quality and Safety programs. 
  • Complete detailed and accurate documentation, including OHS checks, packing slips, checklists, as-builts, test results. 
  • Consistently provide high levels of customer service.
  • TRAVEL REQUIRED: This role will require extensive travel (Monday – Friday, 25-50% of the time) throughout Northern BC.
  • You may be required to work “night shifts” when needed based on project/service requirements.
  • Support, lead, and mentor team members.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  
  • Prior experience in a technical role within the integrated security or low voltage industry(s).
  • Experience pulling, terminating, and testing cat5/6 cables and other cabling infrastructure (racks, cabinets, etc).  
  • Journeyman's Red Seal Electrician ticket (TQ) and experience with industrial or utility work. We will consider late-term apprentices as well.
  • Experience with installing conduit pathways, grounding, bonding, and 120V power wiring.
  • Flexibility to work in a variety of environments.
  • Comfortable working at heights  and must be able to lift upwards of 50 pounds.  
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract and no restrictions. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail. 
  • Must be bondable and able to pass a background check.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience in building controls, automation, and/or telecom will be considered advantage.
  • Post-secondary education in electrical, telecommunications, electronics, or equivalent (considered an asset).

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of power tools will be required to effectively perform this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet).

In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, work on job sites, may be required to travel to and from job site locations, may work in a typical office environment, and is occasionally exposed to construction equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Confined space entry may be required. High work may be required.
Pay Range: $28.00 ph - $35.00 ph DOE
