The role:

Join Saltworks as a Junior Process Engineer and launch your career in clean technology!

We're seeking recent Chemical/Process Engineering graduates or those with under 3 years of experience. This role offers career growth, travel opportunities, and involvement in cutting-edge product development.

No previous water treatment experience is needed! Bring your initiative and aptitude and learn from industry experts dedicated to mentoring future innovators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the process design of lithium recovery and advanced desalination plants using modular water treatment unit operations.
  • Help create and maintain PFDs, P&IDs, and mass balances throughout project phases.
  • Support the development of mathematical process models to aid in design and optimization.
  • Assist in researching and evaluating process device options and specifications to determine the best fit for projects.
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and HAZOP reviews as part of the team.
  • Assist in developing control philosophies for system operations.
  • Help prepare and support commissioning plans for project execution.
  • Contribute to the development of new products and technologies under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Help improve standards and workflows to enhance team productivity.
  • Learn from and collaborate with senior engineers to grow your technical skills and achieve process excellence.
You will be a great fit if you have:
  • A degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering.
  • Relevant co-op or internship experience in Process or Chemical Engineering within an industrial setting (design, testing, or operations).
  • Familiarity with developing P&IDs using AutoCAD P&ID or similar software is beneficial.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Hands-on tooling and troubleshooting skills are considered an asset.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and maintain high-quality work with attention to detail.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new tasks and challenges effectively.
  • Positive attitude, proactive mindset, and willingness to contribute as needed.
