Our innovative machines produce clean water from high-strength industrial discharges and refine lithium to support the energy transition. We offer meaningful and exciting work in a collaborative environment, driven by innovation and problem-solving. We're a fast growing company offering exceptional career opportunities, driven by major global trends.

The role:

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the Manager of Mechanical Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in the detailed design of our systems. You will work in multi-disciplinary teams while being trained and mentored by senior leaders. To excel in this role, you must be highly organized, pay great attention to detail, and be a creative problem solver.

Mechanical Engineers at Saltworks make a positive contribution by:

  • Interpreting process designs and delivering code-compliant mechanical designs. This includes understanding code requirements, mechanical design integrity, and the ability to develop 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Contributing to the maintenance and development of our CAD database (SolidWorks PDM).
  • Participating in creative design sessions with a team of multi-disciplinary engineers to ensure the design meets requirements while considering risks and opportunities.
  • Interfacing with the Production team to ensure accurate build documentation for all designs.
  • Generating fabrication drawings and engineering documentation.
You will be a great fit if you have:
  • A relevant engineering degree (Mechanical, Integrated, etc.).
  • 3 - 8 years of relevant post-graduation work experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks, including routing, large assemblies, weldments, drawings, and PDM systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with industrial plant design including P&IDs and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable piping codes and standards (ASME B31.3, BPVC, CSA B51-14).
  • Experience designing high-pressure stainless steel piping systems would be considered a bonus.
  • Experience with pipe stress analysis is considered an asset.
  • Hands-on tooling and troubleshooting skills (not essential—but it's beneficial if you like this type of work).
  • A positive attitude, a can-do approach, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in as required.
