WHAT YOU WILL DO

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Environmental Project Manager to lead and manage projects related to environmental compliance, sustainability, and remediation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, project management, communications and stakeholder engagement. The position will involve a broad range of technical and administrative responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and manage environmental projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Conduct environmental assessments, site investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Oversee the development of environmental management plans, compliance audits, and remediation strategies.
  • Collaborate with First Nations, and non-government organizations on environmental initiatives.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project goals are met.
  • Prepare and manage project contracts.
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and documentation in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Monitor project progress, performance, and risk, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Lead and mentor a team of environmental professionals, ensuring project success and professional growth.
  • Stay up-to-date with environmental laws, regulations, and best practices.


WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, consulting, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, policies, and industry standards.
  • Proven experience managing complex projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Proficiency in project management software and environmental data management tools.
  • Exposure and experience in the areas of watershed resource management, fluvial geomorphology, fish and fish habitat, ecology, and forestry are considered an asset.
  • Experience working with First Nations, and awareness of indigenous values, their culture and heritage are an asset.
  • Professional certifications or eligible to have, (e.g. RPF, PMP, RPBio, P.Ag ) considered an asset.
