Position Scope
Reporting to the Director, Intellectual Property, the Carbon Capture Technology Analyst is responsible for conducting research, gathering, monitoring, and analyzing trends across the Direct Air Capture (DAC) and associated product market space. This role is expected to collaborate across key departments within Carbon Engineering (CE), provide insights on data trends and anomalies to identify opportunities, and drive revenue generation. Additional expectations include, contributing to the development of CE's business strategy and intellectual property portfolio, research, analysis, and presentation of technical results to internal Executive team and various Committees, and bringing together internal teams in the collection and dissemination of key data and associated insights.

The successful candidate will be based in either Vancouver or Squamish, B.C. working onsite at least 2 days a week onsite in Squamish, B.C.


Responsibilities
  • Research, gather, and monitor trends across multiple data sources (products, customers, market and environment).
  • Critically evaluate and enhance the competitive intelligence data management systems.
  • Conduct data analysis, including techno-economic analysis.
  • Support data and analytic requests; source, validate and analyze data, build models, synthesize insights, and present results utilizing written reports and presentations.
  • Collaborate internally to understand business needs and identify key opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business and IP teams to develop data analytics tools, infrastructure, and work flows.
  • Network in the scientific community to identify opportunities in DAC and related concepts, technologies, or products.
  • Develop and routinely update reporting dashboards to share business insights with key stakeholders.
  • Analyze where academic research, government funding, and/or venture capital is being directed/focused regarding DAC and associated product processes.

Education and Experience
Education:
  • Master's degree or higher specializing in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technology analysis role.
  • Experience in a company that has developed a new chemical process technology, including licensing and IP development would be ideal.
  • A passion for finding insights in data and driving change based on those insights.
  • Experience mining, extracting, manipulating, analyzing data and drawing conclusions.
  • Experience in techno-economic analysis.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and quantitative analysis skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience producing presentations and translating complex problems and data into decision-ready insights and solutions for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Demonstrated excellence in technical writing.

Offers and Benefits

Carbon Engineering offers a competitive compensation package including extended health benefits. Base Salary for an Intermediate to Advanced level role is $93,000 to $141,000 with additional bonus pay.

This position is eligible for our standard 40 hours/week work schedule, or our 9/80 work schedule which provides every second Friday off.
