Fresh for Sunset, our Greenhouse partnership in Delta, BC is currently seeking a Crop Supervisor to join our team. The essential function of this role will create policies and procedures for the cultivation department, and oversee daily operations for multiple cultivation facilities, overseeing a cultivation team in the grow and will manage their group. You will work towards establishing goals and meet our customer demands.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical supervision to Greenhouse personnel in the proper maintenance and care of all berry produce grown by Mastronardi.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new production plans.
  • Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, food safety etc., are adhered to.
  • Manage daily crop care efforts to maximize production and ensure proper techniques and sequence of tasks to benefit crop growth.
  • Work with Operations Manager to forecast production.
  • Follow company cultivation methods and work closely with the rest of the cultivation department to develop and improve processes and supervise all post-harvest activities.
  • Ensure post-harvest work areas are clean and maintained in accordance with the company's standard operating procedures and motivate the cultivation staff to meet performance targets.
  • Manage pest pressure using IPM and environmental control techniques.
  • Oversight with Compliance Officer regarding Track and Trace program implementation.
  • Observe that Work Safe Practices are being followed.
  • Schedule all manufacturing duties for all stages and aspects of growth.

Education/Background Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Three years' experience in related Agricultural field required.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Able to supervise a team.
  • Be innovative, possess analytical skills, result-oriented, composure under pressures, attention to detail, perseverance.
  • Independent and able to drive other functions in achieving the goals.
  • Has good technical skills, knowledge and capabilities in packaging technology and applications.
  • Ability to set priorities taking into account short and long-term needs of the business.

Working Conditions:

  • Greenhouse Environment, where the temperature averages 70°F and background noise approaches 70 dcbs.
  • Ability to make changes as needed without notice.
  • Travel required between different greenhouse locations.

Pay rate: $21/hr-$22/hr to start
