Your future role on the team
The Electrical Engineering position is in the Trail, BC office. It is not a remote position and requires the right candidate to be able to be in the Trail, BC office a minimum of two days per week to satisfy our hybrid work model.

Get a chance to contribute to the various stages of project execution, mainly in the utility sector, including proposals, analysis studies for industrial power systems, detailed engineering, equipment specifications, site surveys, site monitoring and commissioning of electrical equipment. You'll be responsible for technical coordination and supporting project management tasks and leading junior engineers in training.

  • Establish client needs, prepare or review reports, estimates, specifications, quotations and proposals;
  • Work with designers and drafters in the preparation of drawings to BBA and client standards;
  • Perform site inspections, testing and commissioning at client sites, locally and abroad;
  • Manage the technical portions of projects (design reviews, costs, schedules, studies, and calculations)
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

  • Electrical Engineering Degree, or similar;
  • 5 to12 years of relevant experience;
  • Eligible to register with EGBC as a P.Eng.;
  • A valid class 5 BC driver's licence;
  • Experience preparing and reviewing technical documents such as reports, specifications, studies, plans, calculation notes and instructions;
  • Experience with design deliverables such as single line diagrams, layouts, elevations, material lists, cable and termination schedules, etc;
  • Experience preparing and reviewing project estimates;
  • Familiarity with IEEE Color Books, CEC and NEC;
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment specifications, testing and commissioning;
  • Ability to travel on short notice to customer sites and other BBA offices;
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office and other database applications.
