Main Purpose and Function
The Senior Electrical Engineer manages the delivery of annual electrical work and manages the Electrical Design team, including delivery of electrical drafting, design and engineering services. The position establishes and implements electrical technical specifications, standards and related work processes.
The position reports directly to the Associate Director, Electrical Design. The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible to oversee the electrical design teams. This position is required to deliver timely, quality services to clients internal and external to the City of Vancouver, including but not exclusive to other sections within the Streets division, Electrical and Traffic Operations, Streets Activities, Sustainability and Utility Management Branch, Transportation Division, particularly the Traffic and Data Management branch and Transportation Design branch, other City Departments, and developers and consultants. The position also partners with external stakeholders with BIAs, BC Hydro, and Coast Mountain Bus Company.

Where operationally appropriate and subject to change, the City of Vancouver has a Flexible Work Program. This program allows staff to work remotely 1 - 3 days a week from locations that are a daily commutable distance from their work at a City worksite. At this time this position is eligible to be part of the Flexible Work Program. However please note that during the onboarding period, the position will be 5-days per week in office.
