Our Vancouver Office is growing and is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support our continued growth and achievement of our strategic objectives as consultants in the natural resource and renewable energy industries.

  • Work collaboratively with clients, project managers, engineers, designers and drafters in the preparation of deliverables to BBA and client standards
  • Establish client needs, prepare or review reports, estimates, specifications, quotations and proposals
  • Prepare and review design deliverables
  • Perform calculations and studies
  • Lead, supervise, train, and mentor junior engineers during project execution
  • Work with designers and drafters in the preparation of drawings to BBA and client standards
  • Perform site inspections, testing and commissioning at client sites
  • Create project scope of services, budgets and schedules
  • Plan and monitor work assignments and costs
  • Communicate with the client on active and future projects

Overview of certifications and job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised university
  • P.Eng. or eligible to register with EGBC as a P.Eng.
  • Practical knowledge of electrical protection and control system
  • Practical knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)
  • Experience of HV/MV/LV electrical equipment specifications
  • Experience preparing and reviewing project estimates
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills
  • A valid driver's license
  • Able to travel to customer sites and other BBA offices within Canada, the USE, and international destinations for short-term project assignments, such as site meetings, field reviews, site assessments, tests, etc.

  • Annual base salary, based on 37.5 hours weekly, between $124 000 to $170 000

BBA considers many factors to determine the annual base salary such as, but no limited to: Location of the position, education, relevant and demonstrated work experience, technical assessment, qualifications, certifications, and other relevant competencies.
