Electrician

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an electrician, you are responsible for maintaining all Mt Seymour's current electrical systems including ski lifts, and installation of new systems when required. This is a varied position and requires outdoor work during the winter months.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• You will identify and prioritize all electrical maintenance requirements
• You will carry out electrical maintenance and repairs on all Mt Seymour electrical systems including ski lifts
• You will ensure that all manufacturer's guidelines and government regulations regarding electrical maintenance and repair are followed
• Shipping and receiving of materials as required
• Maintaining records regarding maintenance work performed, materials used, quality, and cost control
• You will ensure a high standard in all finished work while remaining cost-effective
• You'll be responsible for thorough record keeping and the reporting of equipment status including but not limited to work performed

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 3rd year apprentice or Class B Inter-Provincial Electrician Journeyman's ticket
• A Class B FSR certificate-not required but an asset
• A minimum of 3 years previous experience as an apprentice or a ticketed electrician with working knowledge of other related trades
• Must be comfortable with working at high altitudes - 50-foot towers
• Experience working with passenger ropeways is an asset.
• Knowledge and diagnostic skills on motor controls, PLCS, and AC/DC drives
• Knowledge and understanding of the Canadian Electric Code
• Knowledge of high-voltage circuitry and protection devices
• Valid WHMIS certificate
• Valid Confined Space Entry Certificate
• Strong organizational and time management skills to provide timely and high-quality service to maximize guest and employee experiences
• Willing and able to work in all weather conditions while performing labor-intensive duties

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Full-time year-round position
• Hourly wage-$38-$43/hour
