Main Purpose & Function
The Health Facility Attendant assists in the oversight and operation of the Gathering Place Health Centre. This position ensures that patrons are able to access personal hygiene programs and services in a safe, welcoming and respectful manner. This position involves personal care and manual work including delousing, laundry and shower services, first aid, monitoring and distributing donations, routine cleaning of equipment and work area, maintaining daily usage stats, and making client referrals where appropriate. This position also oversees the work of volunteers under the guidance and support of the volunteer program staff.
The Health Attendant will support a 7 day a week, 8 hours a day operations and must be available for morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts, as required. Candidates must be available to work a minimum of 2 days per week and 9 hours per week (these are not guaranteed hours). Schedule may be subject to change due to facility requirements and in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
