Reports To: Sr. Manager, Projects, Events, Production Technology

POSITION SUMMARY:

The IPTV, AV Technician will play a crucial role in management, monitoring, and reporting of digital signage within sporting venues or properties of Canucks Sports and Entertainment. The candidate all be responsible for digital screens (TV, LED) and videowalls. Responsibilities could also extend to the maintenance of the Scoreboard, LED rings, VOMs, and diverse LED screens positioned throughout the building. Additionally, the technician will take charge of managing and resolving AV-related issues in our auxiliary spaces.

This role will focus on:

  • Provide technical expertise and support for new technology, design, and maintenance of concourse video signage, including wiring infrastructure, purchasing, and commissioning for new projects.

  • Manage and support various systems, including Digital Signage, Scoreboard, Ross System supporting, LED rings, LED VOM Displays, Video walls, Exterior signage, and AV systems in restaurants and lounges.

  • Provide back-end diagnosis and support for any technical issues

  • Collaborate with Event Managers for event-related requests.

  • Implement new imagery, promotional assets, and texts.

  • Daily support for arena signage requests, covering operational confirmation, workflow solutions, configuration, troubleshooting, and equipment repair.

  • Maintain documentation for Digital Display infrastructure.

  • Manage and troubleshoot AV-related issues, encompassing audio, video, network systems, and hardware.

  • Maintain network-connected projectors, computers, amplifiers, and other AV equipment.

  • Triage and escalate issues to internal groups as necessary.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and manuals for AV-related equipment installations and configurations.

  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to ensure that the content is being displayed correctly. This involves working together to review the content structure, formatting, and design, and making any necessary adjustments to ensure a consistent and visually appealing presentation.

  • Conduct thorough testing and quality checks to verify that content is displayed accurately, and functions as intended. This includes checking for any issues such as broken links, formatting errors, or missing elements, and addressing them promptly.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A related degree or 3+ years experience.

  • Minimum 3 years of technical experience, in digital signage and/or AV systems

  • Technical understanding of AV systems.

  • Biamp, Crestron, and/or Qsys training or certification Plus

  • Dante Level 1 or 2 Certifications Plus

  • Extensive knowledge of architectural, cabling, and control systems.

  • The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications for troubleshooting and maintaining technical systems.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Excellent research, consulting, analytical and probing skills (i.e., know how to ask the right questions to determine and meet needs)

  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong general AV, computer, and network technology knowledge and skills.

  • Ability to make independent judgment calls to resolve urgent and critical matters.

  • Knowledge of best practices for the installation and wiring of AV equipment.

  • Works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
