WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

ACML is actively seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the Bentall Centre located in Vancouver, BC whose main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Licensed HVAC Techs, Electricians, and Plumbers ARE WELCOME TO APPLY.
  • Provide coordination, instruction and guidance to Building Operators and other classifications/trades.
  • Respond to client requests and emergencies.
  • Oversight of Preventative Maintenance Program including: Weekly scheduling of all PPM tasks, Quality control checks on predetermined amount of PPM for the purpose of staff monitoring and assist with reporting of PPM related items for the monthly Performance Monitoring Report.
  • Review Demand Requisition tasks and perform Quality control checks on completed daily tasks.
  • Ensure all PM’s required by Code are incorporated into CMMS.
  • Work with all staff including the Help Desk to monitor daily task completion, and monitor task completion to avoid Service Failure situations.
  • Scheduling of staff including vacation coverages; verify and approve all staff time submissions.
  • Management of staff workloads and projects.
  • Participate and/or facility staff meetings as required.
  • Assist with Start-up/shutdown of building equipment.
  • Assist with ensuring maximum energy efficiency, inspect/operate/maintain and repair mechanical/ electrical systems and equipment (including boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, pumps, generators, life safety system, etc.).
  • Identify materials/services required for operation of facility.
  • Troubleshoot/repair building automation system and building infrastructure equipment.
  • Monitor, schedule and audit work of contractors/external service providers to ensure adherence to company/industry/infection control standards.

  • Assist with performance reviews of employees.
  • Required to perform On-Call duties in a scheduled rotation.
  • Perform daily rounds and log readings, as required.
  • Perform general building maintenance/repairs (e.g., lighting, door repairs, fan/air handling unites, replacement of filters, belt inspections and replacements, etc.).

WHAT WILL YOU BRING?

  • Power Engineering certification, Engineering Technologist, provincial trade certification of qualification, or related diploma/degree/certification are preferred;
  • Preference will be given to candidates with an electrical and/or mechanical background with Trades Qualification as a journeyman (i.e. Inter Provincial Red Seal/Master Plumber or HVAC).
  • 3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance and operations;
  • Demonstrated capabilities re: accountability, judgement, decision-making, problem solving, etc.;
  • A valid BC driver’s license is ideal.
