Type of position: Regular

As a Civil Project Manager, you will join our specialised Civil/Structural and Geotechnical engineering team in Vancouver, BC. Your primary responsibility will be to lead mid-sized projects for studies and detailed engineering mandates in the mining; renewable, energy, and chemical; and heavy industrial sectors.

Job Description

  • Lead the delivery of studies and detailed engineering mandates for various industrial projects (mono and multidisciplinary)
  • Establish and manage project budgets and schedules
  • Communicate project objectives to your team clearly and effectively
  • Oversee the quality of deliverables, costs, schedules, and health and safety standards
  • Monitor performance indicators and share results with clients on a monthly basis
  • Mentor project leaders to help them achieve project objectives
  • Present change notices to clients and define additional mandates with them
  • Participate actively in business development
  • Help prepare drawings, design specifications, and reports
  • Perform technical duties to support projects
  • Participate in site inspections and surveys
  • Supervise and commission engineering solutions where necessary
  • Assess client satisfaction and maintain close, harmonious relations with clients or their representatives
  • Coordinate on-site work of contractors and supervise their activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience
  • Willingness to visit clients (20% to 40% of the time annually)
  • Strong project management skills
  • Advanced ability to read technical drawings
  • Advanced knowledge of work site safety and site supervision
  • Knowledge of quality system processes and instructions
  • Proficiency in technical writing
