Senior Manager - Strategy and Insights

Reporting to the Sr Vice President of Sales and Marketing and working out of our Canadian corporate office in Vancouver, this role will be responsible for leading a diverse and inclusive team analyzing and supporting West Fraser's Sales and Logistics Teams. This role will be instrumental in driving change across our organization to deliver KPI's, macro-economic forecasts in addition to an intentional focus on continuous improvement.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead a diverse and inclusive team of professionals providing support and analysis for all West Fraser's Sales, Marketing and Logistics activities.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales and Logistics teams to understand sales strategies and provide insight and analysis to support our customer base
  • Planning & Forecasting - supporting the sales and marketing teams in effectively enhancing Planning and Forecasting activities that allow the business leaders to make real-time adjustments to market changes
  • Market Research - accountable for researching potential opportunities that provides better data for decision makers on viable opportunities
  • Reporting and Analytics - provide visibility to market dynamics on a real-time basis that gives business leaders more accurate and timely information for which to make decisions
  • Ad-hoc analysis to drive results

    Central to the role will be the ability to work with cross-functional teams including Sales and Marketing Logistics, Corporate Finance, Operations and IT. Key activities will include:

    • Develop analytical frameworks and modelling tools to enhance the company's ability to forecast and report on its activities.
    • Conduct and summarize analyses on customer and product segments to provide insights to stakeholders, allowing them to make data driven decisions.
    • Assist in the development of the overall sales and marketing plan for products and customers by collaborating with various stakeholders across the organization.
    • Conduct monthly performance variance analysis.
    • Other activities as required.

    Who You Are:

    • Undergraduate degree in data science, engineering, computer science, economics, business or other relevant discipline with a minimum of 2 years of experience in an analysis role supporting Sales
    • Experience using MS Office (Word, Advanced Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
    • Experience with Business Intelligence tools (MS Power BI, or similar)
    • Experience leveraging data and advanced predictive analytical techniques (data mining, advanced modeling, statistics, etc.) to support sales and marketing efforts
    • Experience using quantitative methods to solve complex, meaningful analytical problems and to identify customer/business insights
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to work independently or in a team, under tight timelines, with great attention to detail.
    • Ability to drive change and manage multiple priorities.
    • Continuous improvement mindset

    What We Offer:

    • Competitive base salary with annual bonus opportunity and the typical salary range is between $132,541-$155,700 depending on education and work experience
