​​Within Azure Data, the big data analytics team provides a range of products that enable data engineers and data scientists to extract intelligence from all data – structured, semi-structured, and unstructured. We build the Data Engineering, Data Science, and Data Integration pillars of Microsoft Fabric.​

​​As a Senior Software Engineer in the Big Data Analytics team, you will contribute to the cloud infrastructure and large-scale distributed platform services that enable the Spark experience in Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse Analytics, as well as help us evolve and modernize Microsoft’s Cosmos big data platform.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • ​​Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.​

Other Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
    • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

  • ​4+ years of experience designing, building, and operating scalable distributed systems.
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical lead capacity or equivalent.
  • Experience with modern infrastructure development practices such as Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, DevOps, platform engineering, or related.
  • Experience with Azure, AWS or other cloud computing platforms.
  • Production experience with Kubernetes and/or Azure Service Fabric.​

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $108,100 - CAD $199,700 per year.
