THE ROLE:

We are looking for an experienced and passionate firmware engineer to join the NBIO team to support all aspects of FW development for IP sub-systems. As part of the role, the candidate will work closely with other firmware engineers, developers and architects across various IPs in leading the designs and implementing firmware that spans pre-silicon and post-silicon for all AMD SoCs.  Projects focus around PCIe and related technologies for I/O virtualization, shared virtual memory, I/O security, storage, management & accelerators.

THE PERSON:

You are passionate about high quality firmware development with creative and effective problem-solving skills, have an attention to detail, are a motivated, self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in fast paced environments. You have excellent technical communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead engineer responsible for the architecture, development & verification of embedded firmware for IP-subsystems
  • Lead day-to-day FW development efforts for projects & features
  • Drive FW development best practices
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with microcontrollers & embedded C/assembly programming
  • Experience with low level HW/FW interfaces and optimizing for performance
  • Familiarity with multi-core firmware design and techniques
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum FW development methodologies
  • Experience with hardware abstraction layers and building shared code bases
  • Experience with pre-silicon FW development environments including emulation, RTL simulation and modeling platforms
  • Familiarity with PCIe, CXL, UCIe and other related protocols
  • 10+ years of related firmware experience

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer engineering is strongly desired. Master's or PhD degree is a plus
