Main Purpose & Function
Superintendent I's are responsible for optimizing efficiency, managing budgets, presenting metrics, developing process improvements, ensuring that the needs of internal and external customers are met, and creating purpose and direction for their teams. Superintendent I's are accountable for the scope, schedule and budget of project and program work within their respective areas of responsibility. Superintendent I's are responsible for leading and developing front line unionized staff. They must ensure every team member understands branch goals and objectives and enable the team to achieve them by providing guidance, feedback and training. Superintendent I's must manage their teams in a safe and responsible manner ensuring they adhere to all regulatory obligations, safety procedures and branch policies.
Reporting to Superintendent II of Equipment; the Superintendent I manages the Equipment Coordinator who assigns Truck Drivers and Equipment Operators to crews to perform the work required. Communicates and collaborates with a range of staff within the branch, other branches, departments, and members of the public and businesses to ensure the branch workforce can effectively complete assignments.
