Job Description

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing manufacturing maintenance. They will maintain HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems and equipment. The Maintenance Technician is also responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining equipment in accordance with safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes. Additional duties include performing general cleanup of manufacturing area, performing routine maintenance activities and notifying management of need for repairs.

What will you do?

  • Maintain and repair all equipment and machinery and keep accurate records.
  • Follow daily maintenance and repair schedule.
  • Set priorities for preventative maintenance work orders, maintenance requisitions and scheduled work.
  • Perform regular property inspections of manufacturing, common areas, building exteriors, and landscape.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment, structures and grounds on the property.
  • Perform minor repairs on all aspects of the facility.
  • Maintain an inventory of all equipment, tools and machinery.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Follow all applicable KingFisher Boats and WorkSafeBC Occupational Health & Safety regulations.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 1 year or more of maintenance experience;
  • Level 1 Millwright, Building Trades certificate is an asset.
  • Electrical experience required including high/low voltage experience.
  • Must be mechanically inclined with an understanding of hydraulics.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Able to create alternative solutions to problems.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform repetitive and strenuous work.

  1. Starting Wage: $26.75 - $37.00 per hour based on experience.

Working Conditions

  • Regular periods during which there is continuous physical effort is required, e.g., walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward;
  • Exposure to factors such as temperature variations, fumes, moving machinery, humidity, toxic materials which may cause periods of discomfort, high noise levels;
  • Frequent need to give concentrated attention, either hearing or seeing to work being performed;
  • Noticeable pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands exists.

Schedule/Shifts

  • Flexible work schedule - 40 hours/week.
