In this role, you will:

  • Report directly to the Waterfront Engineering Marine Systems - Mechanical Team Lead and contribute to the successful delivery of technical deliverables;
  • Support the maintenance of submarine platform systems;
  • Be safety conscious and gain knowledge of submarine safety principles and general awareness training;
  • Gain knowledge of Defence Standards, Military Specifications and other relevant guiding principles in the design and maintenance of submarine specific systems;
  • Develop knowledge of submarine platform systems;
  • Provide engineering support to commissioning;
  • Prepare repair plans and instructions for the conduct of submarine maintenance; and
  • Produce technical documentation such as deviations, waivers, guides and procedures.

The ideal candidate brings:

  • You have a post-secondary education in a Mechanical engineering discipline;
  • You are eligible for registration as an EIT with EGBC in British Columbia;
  • You have experience in the Marine industry;
  • You have strong communication skills; written and verbal ;
  • You have strong computer skills; including MS Office suite and AutoCAD;
  • You have experience with tasks requiring attention to detail;
  • You have experience working in a shipyard and knowledge of shipyard safe work practices (asset); and
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.
