Profile

We have an opening in DHC-515 Maintenance Engineering in Victoria, BC for a Maintenance Engineering Analyst. The Maintenance Engineering Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining the scheduled maintenance requirements, determining Direct Maintenance Cost and calculating and tracking aircraft dispatch availability and reliability the De Havilland family of Aerial Firefighting aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with operators and maintenance organizations to collect and analyze maintenance and operational data.
  • Perform first-level analysis of in-service aircraft reliability trends for subsequent 'Deep Dive' reviews.
  • Determine material Direct Maintenance Cost (DMC) using component cost and reliability data from various sources, such as suppliers, repair shops and aircraft operators.
  • Develop new scheduled maintenance requirements of DHC-515 Aerial Firefighter as result of product change, in-service experience or industry guidance.
  • Where applicable, apply MSG-3 maintenance program development philosophy for determining scheduled maintenance tasks and intervals.
  • Respond to technical customer inquiries pertaining to scheduled maintenance requirements, cost and reliability.
  • Prepare and present technical presentations in support of various customer and/or regulatory facing events.
  • Support internal and external customer requests for maintenance engineering deliverables such as analyses, estimates and proposals.
  • Interact with Aviation Authorities to obtain approval of scheduled maintenance requirements.
  • Occasional travel may be required in this position. A valid passport is required.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Engineering, College Diploma in Aviation, or relevant practical Aircraft Maintenance experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in aircraft maintenance and/or engineering.
  • Experience in maintenance planning / reliability / engineering / maintenance cost management for Aerial Firefighting, military, missionized or commercial aircraft operations is a definite asset.

Skills

  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong English language skills (written and verbal) are required for this position.
  • Have a Customer Oriented mindset and a can-do attitude.
  • Robust understanding of aircraft maintenance programs, planning and scheduling concepts and methods.
  • Sound judgement, especially related to predictive analysis, anticipation of unexpected hurdles and techniques to avoid/minimize.
  • MSG-3 experience is a definite asset.
  • Good knowledge of aircraft systems.
  • Strong ability to manage tight deadlines and prioritize workload.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good understanding aircraft operations and maintenance.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the MS Office suite of products.
