DP World - Americas is looking for a regional Process Engineer for projects across the Americas region portfolio with an emphasis on Port & Terminal operational and technology projects. The Process Engineer role is critical to provide expertise for projects in the AMR region to design and develop standardized processes which meet the DPW global strategy.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Participate in workshops to understand and document As-Is and To-Be terminal processes
  • Collect the necessary information to document processes through observation, documentation analysis, interviews, etc.
  • Generate business process flowcharts following Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) standards
  • Collaborate with necessary teams to assist in the design of standardized end-to-end processes to meet business requirements with the goal of reducing variation among sites, where possible
  • Utilize Lean Standards in everyday assignments and analysis including Line Balancing, Value Stream Mapping, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plans, and Engineering studies
  • Provide leadership and support to Continuous Improvement initiatives including conducting work studies to analyze processes, developing standards and/or improvements to existing systems and processes providing input for the development of functional layouts, and utilize simulation software to analyze and/or improve work systems
  • Develop and update existing headcount analysis tools in order to analyze the impact of changes on business and prepare summary reports for and in support of Operations, IT and Business Process Improvement initiatives
    Contribute to the development of comprehensive documentation and deliverables which are necessary to facilitate successful process design and improvement projects for the AMR region
  • Provide process engineering expertise to projects, utilizing the appropriate tools and methods
  • Analyze and synthesize information from business units, business SMEs, and teams across the organization to make logical recommendations and decisions
  • Recommend solutions and approaches based on knowledge, past experiences, and best practices
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal clients. Understand clients' business needs and objectives to ensure successful project implementation
  • Assist in the assessment of alternative solutions to evaluate the potential impact on operational processes and systems

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research or related fields with very strong background in engineering redesign and cost savings initiatives
  • Experience in solutions design within logistics or port operations is a plus
  • Highly developed computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, Visio or equivalent
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written - additional languages are a bonus, particularly Spanish and Portuguese
  • At least 3 years of experience delivering process analysis and improvement projects
  • Experience in projects across multiple sites and/or with multiple partners
  • Experience in projects occurring in other countries in the Americas region outside of the United States is a plus
  • Strong understanding of and solid experience with all major aspects of process analysis and improvement projects
  • Experience working with both centralized and remote teams
  • Experience building and maintaining strong working relationships with business stakeholders
