We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated team member to support the Winnipeg Maintenance Team with the day-to-day building maintenance support and break/fix work at StandardAero Limited. Reporting to Manager, Facilities & Maintenance, you will be have accountabilities in performing routine building and grounds maintenance inspections, tasks, troubleshooting and repair work. The ideal candidate must have the ability to manage several concurrent priorities in conjunction with the Planner and a multi-disciplinary team. Additionally, they are open to learning and expanding their knowledge of facilities and unique, complex systems within the site as opportunities arise. The candidate will have a keen eye for general building deficiencies and will initiate action on their own to see them addressed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for general facility maintenance work requests and for identifying and rectifying building and grounds deficiencies.
  • Performs routine work such as replacing light bulbs, changing air filters, maintaining restrooms, adjusting door closers, emptying & replacing metal swarf collection bins, etc.
  • Performs buildings & grounds maintenance such as carpentry tasks, lawn care, snow removal, sidewalks salting, fencing, drywall, sheet metal cladding, signage, etc.
  • Takes inventory of janitorial supplies and stocks the janitorial supply closets for contracted janitorial service.
  • Assists with equipment & material moves and set-up tasks as needed.
  • Assists millwrights, electricians & pipefitters performing installation, maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Operates a motor vehicle, forklift truck or bob cat to transport equipment/supplies.
  • Supports emergency cleaning needs (i.e., spills, etc.).
  • Applies paint and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings and other structures.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
  • Cross-trains in other complementary skills and seeks endorsements for those skills as needed to support maintenance team requirements.
  • Ensure all applicable health & safety requirements are followed and reports/addresses any unsafe practices/conditions immediately.
  • Carries out additional projects and assignments as required.

Qualification

  • Minimum of 1 year experience with facility condition assessments and report deficiencies to management
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with Maintenance of general facility systems such as lighting, doors & windows, consumable (hoses, filters, etc.), lavatories, office furniture, etc.
  • A valid class 5 driver's license (or equivalent)
  • A valid forklift operator's license (Preferred)
  • Ability to use hand, power, and garden tools.
  • Experience with carpentry, drywall, painting & other finishing materials (Preferred).
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, crouch, crawl and/or climb for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and software utilized for maintenance activities.
  • Required shift is M-F 7:00 am-3:30 pm, however shift may change due to business demands.
  • Ability to utilizes a company-provided radio and/or cell phone for helping with communication across the team and site.
