The Strategy and Continuous Improvement Team will be responsible for identifying and executing opportunities for the FSS {Finance Shared Services} Organization, to drive efficiencies and reduce complexity and risk in Finance operations. The Team will also be responsible for supporting and improving the finance and accounting operations globally so that the organization stays at the forefront of technology and innovation and remains relentlessly relevant in journey to world class.

This is a contract role until May 2025 and can be in our Florenceville, New Brunswick or Toronto, Ontario office location.

How You'll Add Value

  • Collaborating on transactional design advice in the product costing space for the Global company {Manufacturing, Logistics, and Warehousing cost accounting} and working on the development and implementation of management cost accounting {application} solutions and processes to drive efficiency and standardization globally.
  • Support the organization's management cost accounting systems and processes to ensure the design meets current business requirements.
  • Provide transactional level insight, experience in developing user friendly initiatives, and champion change within the management cost accounting space
  • KPI monitoring, Includes:
    • Capturing and documenting comprehensive business requirements
    • Validate functional and design specification completeness
    • Deliver high quality solutions that meet business requirements within the agreed schedule
    • Achieve high adoption of solutions by business users
    • Assist in evaluation and selection of new software solutions
  • Creating/writing tests scripts and working with users to ensure proper system testing
  • Promote continuous improvement of culture and aid in the development of a continuous improvement framework
  • Support the development and maintenance of FSS continuous improvement processes (e.g. opportunity intake, evaluation & prioritization, communication of value realization, rewards & recognition), CI prioritization criteria, and CI tools & templates
  • Support testing, reviews, process documentation in conjunction with the FSS team in developing globally efficient processes
  • Handle Special Projects as assigned, including working on tool implementations, and liaising with regional/global resources for optimal outcomes
  • Work with FSS leadership and other key stakeholders to identify potential improvement opportunities, organization, process and infrastructure for the FSS Organization
  • Identify and leverage internal and external data sources to identify continuous improvement opportunities (e.g. FSS Governance meetings & forums, output from service management tools, periodic external benchmarking)

About You:

  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated successful work experience in providing design advice and expertise in Management cost accounting systems and tools to support business processes
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent field
  • Master's Degree in Business (nice to have, but not a requirement)
  • Consumer goods industry and/or manufacturing experience will be an asset
  • Ability to collaborate and work on the design and implementation of solutions in SAP PAPM / SAC. A thorough understanding and hands-on experience utilizing SAP Analytics Cloud, Management Cost Accounting Reporting Tools, and SAP ECC\Hana experience
  • Strong knowledge of finance, the best practices and interdependencies; lean process skills
  • Sound fact-based decision making; responsive and problem-solving ability with a focus on delivering results
  • Courage to have difficult discussions with groups from all levels of the organization
  • Collaborating in a cross functional team environment
  • Demonstrated skill in change and stakeholder management
