The R & D Pilot Facilities and Services Coordinator will report to the facility manager. This individual will be a licensed Electrician: will be responsible for the Health and Safety and Food Safety elements of setting up trial parameters as required by the trial lead. This will include moving equipment into the correct line set up, ensuring it is ready for use (i.e., power, water, air, steam) and supporting the trial lead run the actual trial. These trials may be on new and/or improved products for regional / global projects or may involve the testing of new technologies or new equipment. The position supports global and regional projects with an emphasis on new product innovations, process improvements, cost improvements, or other work as assigned.

The R & D Pilot Facilities and Services Coordinator is self-motivated, works well alone or as a group. This person must be committed to safety and maintaining a winning safety culture. We strive to have a cross-functional team, having the ability to work in several different fields: electrical, welding, fabricating, instrumentation and programing, boiler services and site amenities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Must be a champion of safety
  • Must be able to work in a temperature varying environment
  • Must be able to work in a team environment that fosters open and honest communication
  • Must have good decision making and trouble shooting skills
  • Required to adapt equipment to follow experimental design protocols.
  • Must possess good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Must be able to understand and abide by H.A.C.C.P. regulations concerning sanitation and critical control points
  • Required to lead team meetings including safety talks.
  • Willing to travel if required
  • Ability to work with new technologies and equipment
  • Ability to integrate new equipment into existing line
  • Can work independently with minimal supervision


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience at a supervisory level preferably in a maintenance environment
  • Licensed Industrial Electrician must
  • Mechanical/Instrumentation background would be an asset
  • Actively contribute to the "TEAM" by working diligently to correct and prevent any electrical (and mechanical) problems, especially where there is a safety or food safety risk
  • Must comply with safe practices prior to working on any equipment (e.g., Lockout procedure, barricading areas, safe handling of materials, etc.)
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, with good organizing and coordinating skills
  • PLC troubleshooting experience (Rockwell/Allen Bradley)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in manufacturing and processing equipment. Must have a full understanding of steam generation, water distribution management, HVAC systems, propane, lab equipment, and all building aspects
  • Must be willing to work flexible shifts including weekends and call-ins if necessary
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • Strong leadership qualities and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently using time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage inventory, familiar with COUPA
  • Ability to respond to unexpected circumstances calmly and responsibly
  • Ability to accept and embrace change in the day-to-day operations
  • Motivational skills that support and promotes team synergy

DUTIES:

  • Maintain the McCain high standard of Hygiene and Sanitation
  • Safety leader committed to promoting and improving the PPTC safety culture
  • Support and drive the Key Elements of Safety Program at PPTC
  • Responsible for the facility maintenance, including maintenance of site security, risk management and support services
  • Inventory Management
  • Work closely with Scientific Team, other McCain departments, External Customers and Contractors
  • Align Preventative Maintenance program with facility requirements
