About Ocean Steel

Incorporated in 1955, Ocean Steel services several markets, including Atlantic Canada, the Eastern United States, Bermuda and the Caribbean. Although they specialize in fabricating and erecting structural steel for buildings and bridges, they also manufacture and install platework, such as breechings, stacks, ducts, penstocks, process & storage tanks and custom process-equipment. Ocean Steel's two New Brunswick plants include the original location in Saint John, as well as the York Steel Plant in Fredericton, which was acquired by Ocean Steel in 1995.

Responsibilities

  • Operate remote controlled Overhead crane.
  • Load structural steel beams onto flatbed trucks in yard.
  • Working off order lists and organizing the load so it is safe for transportation.
  • Assist in rigging steel beams.
  • Support other areas of operations such as Receiving yard and Paint shop.
  • Use of airless paint sprayer

Requirements

  • Completion of high school.
  • Previous experience with overhead crane.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable working outside in all weather conditions.
